MA Show (2011)

'An Archaeology of Name and Place (no's 1-3)' (2010-2011)
Mixed Media
An ongoing project exploring the location of Little and Great Wenham in the Suffolk area. Exploring a location of which I share my name to try and identify/form some sort of relationship/identity. My father (see above) accompanied me on some of the visits.

Small individual projects were developed around the area. One piece in particular, a super 8 film was created to be shown then rewound then shown again through a set time, gradually the film would fade, get damaged and ultimately disappear leaving only the trace, a memory of once was. The moment of time captured on film, left only as a memory by those who saw it. This is an ongoing project and something I am still working on. The idea of creating unique 'one offs', something that cannot be replicated intrigues me, which is why I was drawn to the use of polaroid in particular.

'1992' (2009)

1992, (2009)
C-type digital prints (Framed)
Series based on my fragmented memories of my childhood holidays and the reawakening of these memories through revisiting these locations of Seaton, Torquay and Dawlish Warren.
I withhold the original photograph from the viewer's gaze and instead focus upon the journey of discovery, looking to the details of the Hotel and B&B rooms as a part of my performance.
